Julia Gat (b. 1997) is a Paris and Marseille-based photographer building a living archive of togetherness. At the crossroads of documentary and portraiture, her work explores intimacy, belonging, and human connection across cultures and communities. Her work has been published in The New York Times, The Guardian, Libération, and Marie Claire Korea, and exhibited at the Rencontres d'Arles, Nederlands Fotomuseum, Fondation Agnès B. and galerie sit down. She is the recipient of the CNAP Grant for Documentary Photography (2025), the Prix Polyptyque (2022), the Steenbergen Public Prize (2021), and the ISEM Young Photographer Prize (2020). Her first book Khamsa khamsa khamsa was published by Actes Sud in 2022.
