Organised by the Centre photographique Marseille (CPM), the Polyptych Prize announced its winners on 26 January 2023. Three artists using the photographic medium won: Julia Gat, Andréa Graziosi and the duo Jeanne and Moreau.
The prize is organised on the occasion of the Polyptych Salon, the fourth edition of which was held from 26 August to 10 September 2022, bringing together the galleries Sit Down, Miranda, Binome, Françoise Besson, Drawing Room and Parallax. Among the eleven local Marseille artists presented, the three winners were selected by a jury. It was notably composed of Pascal Beausse, head of the photographic collections of the Cnap and Florence Bourgeois, director of Paris Photo.
Julia Gat’s quasi-documentary photographic work was also exhibited at the Rencontres d’Arles in 2022. Andréa Graziosi explores the relationship to the cult perpetuated by the inhabitants of the Barbagia region in Sardinia, where he is originally from. Jeanne and Moreau, an artist couple, chronicle their relationship through a series of still lifes and staged interior shots.
An exhibition is on show from 28 January to 25 February at the Sit Down Gallery, Paris, showcasing their work. The winners will also receive a production grant from CPM partner Studio AZA.
